Beyond the Track
Whether you're a seasoned racing fan or new to the sport, our commitment goes beyond the finish line. Life after racing is paramount.
Our Welfare Guarantee
Every dog protected, for life
Every single greyhound at DB Racing has a guaranteed home after their racing career concludes. We firmly believe that our responsibility to these incredible athletes doesn't end when they retire from the track.
We personally manage the matching process, rigidly assess and vet potential adopters and provide ongoing support during the transition to ensure each dog is comfortable and thriving in their new forever home. Our syndicate members also play a role in finding the perfect families for our champions.

Greyhounds as Pets
Busting Common Myths
Do they need lots of exercise?
Surprisingly, no! Greyhounds are often nicknamed "45mph couch potatoes." While they enjoy short bursts of energy, they are sprinters, not endurance runners. A couple of 20-30 minute walks a day is usually plenty, followed by hours of sleeping.
Are they aggressive?
Not at all. Greyhounds are generally incredibly gentle, affectionate and docile dogs. They are raised in litters and kennels to be highly socialized with humans and other greyhounds.
Are they good with cats or small dogs?
This depends on the individual dog and their prey drive. Some are completely fine, while others are better suited to homes without small furries. We carefully assess each dog and will honestly match you based on your current pets.
Do I need a large garden?
No, provided they get their daily walks. Many greyhounds live happily in apartments! If you do have a yard, it should be securely fenced, as they can accelerate very quickly if something catches their eye.
Ethics & Welfare
Our Commitment, Explained
Is greyhound racing ethical?
Yes, under strict, modern regulation. DB Racing Greyhound Syndicate strictly adheres to the high welfare standards set by the GBGB (Greyhound Board of Great Britain) to ensure all greyhounds receive elite veterinary care, superior nutrition, superb kennelling and a safe, comfortable retirement.
What is the greyhound welfare guarantee at DB Racing?
Our welfare guarantee ensures transparent, daily monitor-based checks on all our dogs, elite medical cover and a committed, personally vetted rehoming program that guarantees every single dog with a loving home on retirement.
How does greyhound retirement and rehoming work in the UK?
Upon retiring from athletic racing, each dog starts a transition program where they get matched and adapted to home settings. DB Racing personally oversees all adoptions to ensure our greyhounds live happy, healthy lives beyond the track.
