1. About Us
DB Racing Greyhound Syndicate is operated by Dave Branch, a sole trader based in England. By accessing our website at dbracingsyndicate.co.uk or enquiring about membership, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to enquire about or hold membership of DB Racing Greyhound Syndicate. By contacting us or applying to join, you confirm that you meet this age requirement.
3. Website Use
The content on this website is provided for general information purposes only. It is subject to change without notice. We make no guarantees that the website will be free from errors or continuously available.
You agree not to misuse this website or its content in any way that is unlawful or harmful.
4. Syndicate Membership
4.1 How to Join
Membership of DB Racing Greyhound Syndicate is subject to acceptance by the syndicate operator. Expressing interest via our contact form does not constitute an automatic right to membership.
4.2 Membership Fees
The current membership structure is as follows:
- One-off joining fee: £350
- Monthly contribution: £27 per month
All fees are paid into a shared syndicate fund ("the kitty"). The kitty is used to cover the costs of purchasing new greyhounds, kennel fees, veterinary costs, training and all associated running expenses.
Fee structures may be reviewed and updated from time to time. Members will be notified in advance of any changes.
4.3 What Membership Includes
As a syndicate member, you will receive:
- A proportional share in the syndicate of your greyhound
- Access to race nights at Nottingham Greyhound Stadium, Colwick Park
- Regular voice and video updates from the trainer
- The opportunity to visit the kennels and dogs on a weekly basis
4.4 Leaving the Syndicate
Members who wish to leave the syndicate may do so by providing written notice to the syndicate operator. Upon leaving, the departing member will receive their proportional share of the current kitty balance at the time of departure.
No refund of the original joining fee is provided.
5. Greyhound Welfare
DB Racing Greyhound Syndicate is committed to the highest standards of greyhound welfare, in line with the rules and guidelines of the Greyhound Board of Great Britain (GBGB).
When a greyhound retires from racing:
- Syndicate members will be given first opportunity to adopt the dog
- If no member wishes to adopt, the dog will be rehomed through a GBGB-approved rehoming kennel
We do not abandon, sell commercially, or rehome through non-approved channels.
6. Financial Matters
All membership payments are made directly and separately from this website; no payment processing takes place on this site. The syndicate fund is managed by the syndicate operator in good faith for the benefit of all members.
Members acknowledge that greyhound racing involves financial risk, including but not limited to:
- Injury or illness of the greyhound
- Unexpected veterinary costs
- Poor racing performance
Membership fees are contributions to a shared fund and do not constitute an investment or a guarantee of financial return. The syndicate does not guarantee winnings, race results or any form of financial return.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by English law, Dave Branch and DB Racing Greyhound Syndicate shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential losses arising from:
- Membership in the syndicate
- Greyhound injury, illness, or death
- Race outcomes or prize money
- Reliance on information provided on this website
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under English law.
8. Intellectual Property
All content on dbracingsyndicate.co.uk, including text, images and the DB Racing Greyhound Syndicate name and branding, is the property of Dave Branch and may not be reproduced without prior written permission.
9. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the website shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
10. Severability
If any provision of these Terms & Conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be severed and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
11. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time. Your continued use of the website or continued membership after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
